A Fast Star Identification Algorithm of Star Sensors in the LIS Mode

In the South Atlantic Anomaly (SAA) area, due to influence of transient noise caused by space radiation, a star sensor can easily stay in lost-in-space (LIS) mode for long time. To solve this problem, paper proposes fast identification (FSI) algorithm. First, suppression method based on scale assessment and neighborhood comparison is developed. Next, accurate search technique multiple main stars k-vector used realize identification. The builds self-defined attribute database stars, repeated identity proposed positioning star. Lastly, final are obtained through field view verification angular distance. experimental results showed that when works at speed 0.1°/s level signals lower than 900, successful rate higher 70%. addition, compared with triangle algorithm, match group multi-pole algorithm (MPA), FSI has advantages faster execution speed.
